therapy techniques with the benefit of therapeutic exercise. We
employ a professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Our
therapists’ philosophy is to take a holistic approach, evaluating
your condition and personally customizing your rehabilitation
program.
We are a private practice owned and operated by physical

comprehensive one-on-one rehabilitation for our patients. Our
staff specialize in the treatment of orthopedic, sports medicine,
neuromuscular, geriatric dysfunctions and balance and vestibular
training. Our facilities in Forest City, Hawley and Dunmore
provide private treatment rooms, ample parking, and are
handicapped and wheelchair accessible.
Our goal at CPT is to provide caring and compassionate service by
taking a personal interest in your recovery. Ask your doctor for a
referral to CPT.
CPT
Specializes in Sports Medicine Therapy
Sports Medicine and
conditioning has always been a specialty at CPT. In addition to
achieving both his Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy,
Stephen Atacavage, MPT, DPT, ATC, one of CPT's owners, began his
career in rehabilitation as a certified Athletic Trainer. Before
pursuing his career in physical therapy, Steve worked with
professional/semi-professional teams. Now, as the owner of his own
practice for nearly a decade, Steve continues to apply and share
his sports medicine knowledge and specialty with all of CPT's
staff, enhancing the rehabilitation of both athletes and
non-athletes.
Furthermore, Mr. Atacavage's background has earned him the honor
and personal responsibility of providing services to professional
athletes. Currently, Steve is the physical therapist to Wladimir
Klitschko, a world champion heavyweight
boxer.
CPT’s
Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation
Dizziness and compromised
balance are under recognized problems, most commonly seen in, but
not limited to the geriatric population. These deficits often
result in falls with serious injury, limited mobility, social
isolation, and loss of independence. Rehabilitation specialists
can play a vital role in assisting these clients to address their
compromises and regain control of their lives.
Balance and vestibular rehabilitation is available at all three
CPT locations. However, CPT Dunmore originally opened in 2005 with
the intention of specializing in balance and vestibular
dysfunction. Suzanne Atacavage, MPT, DPT and co-owner of CPT
oversees the program and specializes in geriatric and balance
rehabilitation. Although the office is now a full, outpatient
rehabilitation facility, treatment of these disorders remains a
focus. |
